We're inviting all 2D & 3D artists, both professional and amateur, to come and create artwork within the Hopton Hall grounds.

Be inspired by our rose gardens and any other vantage point along the 2km visitor trail. The winning artwork will be bought for £1,000 and be permanently displayed at one of our venues.

Thursday - Sunday every week in July from 10.30 - 4.00 pm.

Please note: Due to the natural terrain of the gardens and many of the paths being wood chip and stone, non-motorised wheelchairs users may experience difficulty.

Artist FAQs

Do I need to be a professional artist?

Not at all. We're inviting both amateur and professional artists to join the Month of Art!

Do I have to come on a specific day?

No, you can come whenever you want to during our opening hours and days. This is Thursday - Sunday from 10.30 - 4.00 pm every week in July.

You can take your artwork away with you to finish elsewhere, or you can return to the gardens to carry on or complete it.

Do I have to pay?

No, the gardens are free to all artists. However, all artists must fill out a registration form.

Tell me more about the competition.

To enter, simply drop your artwork to Hopton Hall at any point during the month of July.

All entries will be put on display on the last weekend of the month (27th and 28th July). There will be an open vote for the winning artwork.

You do not have to enter the competition. You can come along to enjoy the gardens and create your artwork for your own enjoyment.

Do I bring my own equipment?

Yes, please. This is a plein-air event.
