THE OLDE GATE INN
Rare Grade II* listed building in Brassington, built in 1616.

The Olde Gate Inn
The Old Gate (or Ye Olde Gate) at Brassington was built in 1616 and has a relatively rare Grade II* listing since much of its interior - including its large, magnificent fireplace - has remained unchanged. So much so that it was once voted by the Good Pub Guide (now defunct) as the Unspoilt Pub of the Year and features in CAMRA’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors (one of only 300 or so pubs in the UK classified with the top three-star rating).
Located near the shores of Carsington Water, it is one of Derbyshire’s oldest pubs and also houses the village’s only shop, The Pantry.
