HOPTON HALL
The ancestral home of the Gell family for over 600 years.

HOPTON HALL - HOPTON, DERBYSHIRE DALES
Grade II listed Hopton Hall was the ancestral home of the Gell family for over 600 years. The family were notable for their influence, wealth and generosity towards the local community, and notable traces of their contribution to the Hall, its grounds and the surrounding area can still be seen today.
Ownership of the Hall transitioned out of the Gells’ ownership in 1989, and a further three times before 2023 when it was bought as a family home by the Harveys with two goals in mind: to restore the 16th century manor house and its grounds; and to continue providing the best and friendliest of welcomes for visitors to its seasonal events and to its cottage guests.
Learn more about the history of Hopton Hall.
The Hall opens seasonally to members of the public every day in February for the Snowdrop Walk; and Thursday – Saturday for the Month of Art celebration and Summer Opening of the Walled Rose Garden.
