Dovedale

Walk down to either Lode Mill or Milldale (stop off at Polly’s cottage for a hot pastie or soup), cross the river at Viator’s bridge and follow the river down-stream. You can then choose to cross the footbridge at the Tissington Spires and walk-up Halldale or continue towards Ilam. Ilam Hall has a National Trust tearooms. Dovedale can get VERY busy in peak seasons. Avoid Bank holiday weekends.
