Each July, Hopton Hall welcomes visitors to its Walled Rose Garden – a once-derelict one-acre area that now features over 2,000 rose bushes, with its 40 beds framed by 5,000 clipped box plants. Visitors also have the opportunity to explore other interesting features and architecture of the grounds including the quirky Crinkle Crankle Wall and 11-metre-high Summer House.

The Summer opening of the grounds coincides with the Month of Art celebration where 2D and 3D artists are offered free access to the Estate’s extensive grounds and gardens to create an artwork taking inspiration from their surrounds. They are also invited to display and sell their artwork during the event (a complimentary gazebo can be provided) and to submit their finished work into the Month of Art competition.
Visitors can watch local artists at work, capturing inspiration from the grounds of the Hall. The winning artwork (selected from votes cast by garden visitors during the final weekend of July) is bought for £1,000 and permanently displayed at one of Hopton Hall’s venues.
There is also the opportunity to view and purchase work by some of the region’s top art groups and societies who will be based within the gazebos throughout July’s celebration.
